Hi! I’m really glad you are here!
I have created this blog as a calm, supportive space where you can find reliable information, practical guidance, and reassurance as you navigate life before and after hysterectomy.
Whether you’re newly considering surgery, preparing for an upcoming hysterectomy, recovering afterwards, or simply looking for answers and support, you are in the right place.
What you can expect here
The Hysterectomy Support Blog will be updated regularly with:
Clear, honest information about hysterectomy, recovery, and what’s normal (and what’s not)
Practical tips to help you prepare physically and emotionally
Free downloads and resources you can use at your own pace
Updates and news from me personally, and Hysterectomy Support and Shared Experiences
Supportive guidance based on my years of hysterectomy support experience!
Everything shared here is created with one goal in mind:
to help you feel more informed, more confident, and less alone.
There’s no pressure to read everything, no overwhelm, and no expectation that you “do hysterectomy a certain way”. Take what you need, when you need it.
A little about me
I’m Kelly, the creator and founder of Hysterectomy Support and Shared Experiences. I created this space after my own hysterectomy journey showed me just how lonely, isolating and confusing this experience can feel, especially when clear, compassionate support is hard to find.
Since 2013, I’ve supported tens of thousands of people through my Facebook community, resources, courses, 1-1 support and other social media. This blog is an extension of that work, a place to share helpful information openly and accessibly.

Glad to be seeing this page,, had a full andominal hysterectomy last oct 21st 2025,, still have issues ,,and my after care was not great in the hospital,, and resulted in sepsis ,, haematoma,,and on antibiotics etc for 8 weeks. Sent home with infected wound. Im now 14 weeks ,,and still have problems with wound etc.
Hi Heather,
That is a rough journey. I am sorry that your aftercare was so poor. Your healing will have been set back with all of those complications but, 14 weeks is a long time to still be struggling. Sending you a hug, and please make use of our resources while your recovery is ongoing.

Hello!
Wish I'd found you pre-op. Really useful information. Aftercare where I am seems quite poor, no idea who I'm suppose to contact with problems so having the information I've just read is very useful.
Thank you 😊
You are welcome xx
